Vacation workouts

We’re well into summer break and I’m sure many of you are headed for a nice vacation this summer. How to keep up the workouts??
Here’s what I did on my recent trip down to San Diego:

Day 1 at the beach – run backwards 10x for 10 seconds while evading tiny freezing hands. Then, while holding 30 pound toddler walk into ocean until water is waist height, turn around and run as fast as you can out of the water and then head straight back into the ocean. Repeat 20 times. Squats, push ups, and planks while kids played in the sand. Repeat each exercise 20 times in a circuit and repeat circuit 3 times.
Day 2 – gym! Made it to the gym on the second day of vacation for 30 minutes, a pyramid interval run. Started at 6.0, ran for 2 minutes, walked for 1 minute, then increased speed 0.5 mph until reached 15 minutes, then headed back down. For the last minute, increased speed every 10 seconds until reached top speed and maintained it as long as possible. Fun!!! Burned 350 calories in 30 minutes.
