Bryanna, the group ex instructor

Ok, so if you’re reading these posts in order you’ll already know that today my 5 year old daughter got new tennis shoes and spent a majority of the afternoon breaking them in and possibly training for a 5k…?

As the day came to a close she started making some space in the living room and stretching – stretching her quads, hamstrings, and calves. I quietly and eagerly awaited what was to come next…  She started instructing her “class,” as she provided directions to follow her in the stretching and then head out for a quick warm up run = 5 laps around the living room.  This “class” went on for about 20 minutes and she had the participants doing crunches, push ups, planks, lunges, and squats.   Good form and all.  She was even motivating them and cheering them on to continue and do their best!

If you don’t have a 5 year old daughter at home, let me just side note real quick that their lives usually revolve around some sort of make- believe world, whether it’s princesses, playing “house,” or maybe “school.”  Usually not group exercise instructor…

I don’t know if this new career choice stemmed from the purchase of the new shoes or from watching me instruct for the last 5 years.  All I know is I am so excited that she knows how to stretch properly, perform 10 push ups with good form, and have tons of fun being active.  What more could I ask for?!

Be active for yourself and for your kids, doesn’t have to be organized – just have fun! She was having a great time and was sweating by the end.

Wondering why I didn’t join in?  Apparently, the class was full!!  Look for Bryanna to teach at a park near you 😉
